Trinny & Susannah – Why Don’t I Dig It?

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Designer Desirables loves Fashion Makeover Shows and Gok Wan is by far my favourite, but why don’t I dig Trinny & Susannah. ITV’s Trinny & Susannah Undress The Nation just gets right up my nose and I think it’s a poor version of Goks “How To Look Good Naked”. I keep watching hoping they will grow on me but I always feel let down and that what they are trying to achieve just doesn’t seem to work. I never feel good for the “re-vamped” effort at the end, whereas with Gok I am so elated for the person he has restyled as they look and feel gorgeous, I never get that feeling from Trinny & Susannah in fact I feel they are very patronising in their approach.  Maybe it’s just me and no matter what they do I won’t like it!

Their Profile is worth reading on the ITV Official Website though, and I must admit that they are very attractive!

If you want to look good just visit Designer Desirables and give yourself a makeover with a great choice of Dresses, Shoes, Handbags & Accessories…. who needs Trinny & Susannah?

Imelda Markos Had 3000 Pairs Of Shoes – Do You Love Designer Shoes?

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

Imelda Markos the ex “First Lady Of The Phillipines” & wife of Ferdinand Marcus the ex “President of the Phillipines” loved Designer Clothes and in particular loved Shoes. She apparently had 3000 pairs of Shoes, over 1200 Designer Dresses, 35 Fur Coats & approx 1500 Bags. Because she grew up in poverty she indulged herself in all the things she could never afford and dreamed about – quite wrong as she had no thoughts for those still struggling with poverty as she did prior to marrying Ferdinand. She created a shoe museum in Manila “The Marikina Shoe Museum” displaying 778 pairs of shoes, and apparently the place with most shoes on display in one place in the world.

But she was on the right track albeit the quantities were excessive. There is nothing better than than a fabulous pair of shoes to complete an outfit and make a girl feel good. I love wearing new shoes, I just feel so glamourous and when I get a pair of Designer Shoes, I love the Box and all the trimmings that come with them. Many times I have had sore feet at the end of the evening as the shoes were bought for style but I looked and felt a million dollars. Don’t get me wrong Designer Shoes are well made & very comfortable but occasionally I buy for the sheer glamour and glitz not for the comfort.

If you want the Designer Look but want Desirable Prices check out Designer Desirables and you can shop like Imelda Markos without breaking the bank.

Men & Women Do You Look Good Naked?

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Designer Desirables is a HUGE fan of Gok Wan and his successful TV shows, How To Look Good Naked & Fashion Fix. But the big question is – would you dare to reveal all on national TV, I know I couldn’t but I do admire those who can. To stand in front of a mirror naked and let the nation see everything is so brave, and it really proves that we are all different and we should love the body we own.  Designer Desirables has a large selection of designer dresses, shoes, bags and accessories to suit all shapes & sizes and with designer clothes you get great fit and its a myth that they are just for the perfect shape, Designer clothes are cut well, fit well, using great fabrics and styles and make any girl feel good.

Apparently they are looking for MEN on their next show so if you want to be on the show and are brave enough to reveal all you can apply on the Channel 4 website and they are also looking for Groups. Or if you want tickets to Channel 4 shows visit the channel 4 website  for more information.

Anneka Svenska’s Weekly Celebrity Update 19/08/08

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Hi again, it’s been another fabulous week, just as well as I need some glamourous parties to make up for the awful english weather.

This week I attended an outrageous OK Magazine Human Hi party in Soho alonside fabulous footballers wife Lizzie Cundy, the outrageous gay icon Julian Bennett, The Wright Stuff’s Korin Nolan (the blonde in the booth) and crazy TV Sin Citie’s Ashley Hames. The night had a showbiz feel to it as all who attended were treated to musical shows and a live performance by Julian Bennett. I wore a fabulous personally designed T Shirt by top brit designer Toby Mott, famous for designing Gerry Halliwells “Yoga Kills” T Shirt. Mine read “Wolf Girl” and caused quite a stir amongst the paps attending.

The week finnished off in true Hollywood Glamour Style at Steve Rowland’s “Hollywood Heat” book launch at The Beauchamp in Knightsbridge. Steve Rowland an avid animal lover like me was there to launch his glamourous new book about his life working amongst some of Hollywood’s finest and most famous actors.

I attended with my best friend, the glamourous and infectious Cindy Jackson. We met up with socialite Sally Farmiloe, ex model Jilly Johnson, “Rags to Riches” presenter Liz Brewer and the crazyily infectious Ricardo from TVs “The Salon”. I wore a Designer Desirables amazing yellow Kasike Dress, as yellow is most certainly the colour of this summer.

Please enjoy my photos as we all certainly had a ball.

Take care have a great week

Love Anneka Svenska.

Gok’s Fashionistas Fail Again- This Time On The Red Carpet!

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

Yet another Fabulous Fashion Fix Show by Gok Wan but yet another DISASTER by the so called Fashionistas.

Such a fabulous challenge to create The Red Carpet Look. The Fashionista’s spent £106,307.00 and still FAILED miserably. Gok wowed everyone with a £741.65 spend.

Where are they going wrong?  They are too personal and tunnelled and every week they pick the same Designers using the same “personal style”….I am sick of seeing Phillip Lim Dresses, MIU MIU plain black shoes and lacklustre designer clutch bags. They have the choice of the World’s Best Designers and always stick to their preferred small handful. The Red Carpet look should wow everyone & sparkle & shine, where was Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Jovani, Christain Lacroix, what about glitzy shoes..Jimmy Choo and Gina, where were the party bags?

I DESPAIR !!!!!!!!!

You can get the Red Carpet Look at Designer Desirables where you can buy Designer Labels at Desirable Prices

Anneka Svenska’s Weekly Celebrity Update 05/08/08

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

Hi again, its Anneka Svenska  updating you on my Celebrity star studded week

This week has been another fabulous but slightly quieter week. If you aren’t socialising on a yacht in St Tropez right now then there are only a few parties left to be seen at.

This week it was the fabulous Luxury Council’s roof top summer party and The Button Club’s Garden Of Secrets Barbeque.

The Rooftop Garden was amazing and the views were unbelievable. I attended with Estonian super model Kaja Wunder as we wore fabulous top couture milliner Louis Mariette hats. and matched them with some vibrant yellow Faust Dresses from Designer Desirables as we sipped champagne overlooking the London Eye & St Paul’s.

Later that week everyone horded into the extremly successful Button Club summer party, hosted again by the fabulous supermodel Kaja Wunder. The Button Club is for London’s most exclusive social networkers and hosts many parties and balls all year round. I attended with the extremely beautiful Natalie Nwagbo from Britains Next Top Model and top Gumball racing driver Michael Ross. Louis Mariette hats were worn by a select few to compliment our amazing designer dresses.

Have a fabulous week. I am off to enjoy my new Wolfdog puppy Kyoshi who is destroying my entire house with her teeth and if not careful all of my couture gowns

Take Care

Anneka xx

Gok Wan’s Party Dress Challenge – Britains Top Fashion Buyers Fail Again!

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Every week on  Goks Fashion Fix  ,  Gok challenges 4 top retail buyers to pick 4 outfits with unlimited funding and Gok has a budget of £200 per outfit. Every week Gok wins!!!  Yes he has great ideas and style but lets get real, the 4 buyers have the PICK of the best Designer Outfits in the world but they fail miserably every week. This week was “Party Time” and the 4 designer outfits they chose were so BORING!! where was the Glitz, Glamour and Sexiness….not a bit of sparkle to be seen. If I had an unlimited budget in Harrods, Selfridges & Browns I am quite sure even I could do better. I believe every girl should have a mixture of Designer & High Street fashion and the trick is to mix and match cleverley!

Gok is brilliant though. I was fascinated by his Accessory Tips. Take a plain dress and glam it up. Gok used fashion jewellery pieces to re-vamp his outfits, chunky necklaces stitched on to necklines, earrings on shoes and bags on belts.  If you want some great jewels to funk up your outfit have a look at Designer Desirables, the Black Braid Chunky Necklace would easily stitch onto a dress and the Elasticated Bracelets would make great cuffs on dresses, but if you are not handy just vamp up your outfit with lots of jewellery.
