Here at the Designer Desirables offices we have had the most fabulous start to the day! The reason for our early week excitement is that we find out we have been shortlisted for the Drapers Etail Awards 2010 in the Best New Etailer category! For those who may not know Drapers is basically the fashion manual for the industry and to be recognised by such a prestigious company is simply marvelous. Along with 6 other brilliant websites including Amanda Wakely, Aphrodite Clothing, Davicore Clothing, farfetch.com, Matthew Willliamson and Pretty Disturbia, the Designer Desirables team will be travelling to the big smoke on January 28th 2010 for the awards ceremony which are being held in the super stylish Bloomsbury Ballroom.
All the girls at DD are over the moon to just be involved in such an event and in a time of tough trading, online retailing has seen many success stories so it’s great to celebrate this with other like minded businesses. We will of course bring you all the news, fashion styles and gossip from the event itself and a massive collective fingers crossed for the outcome, come on the North! X
Kate Fearnley Wins Fashion Award
Last night the glossy fashion magazine Cosmopolitan held there annual Ultimate Women Awards in London town. The ultimate celebration of females saw incredible A-listers and inspiring females come together for a glitzy night of fun and fabulous fashion. Our DD girl about town attended this chic event where she mingled with the stars and even managed to get a little pic taken with the gorgeous Ultimate Newcomer winner Pixie Lott. There was one winner in particular we would like to give a huge congratulations to and that is Kate Fearnley who won the Ultimate Young Fashion Entrepreneur award. A fantastic achievement and very well deserved. Kate Fearnleys hot new collection is now available to purchase on line at Designer Desirables and we are as pleased as punch to be able to share this award winning label with you!

Oh my goodness last week was Fashion week in London and I have only just recovered! I wore my Designer Desirables Kasike Kaftan with my leather trousers, as its really comfortable and certainly stands out in the crowd.
Tuesday was the biggest night with me deciding to attend 7 events all in one evening.
First I attended Ana Sekularac’s runway show with top shoe designer Katarina Mootich and stunning actress Margo Stilley. We then rushed quickly over to Harrods for Rock & Republics new make up launch. I was joined there by Estonian Supermodel Kaja Wunder. We glugged down a few glasses of champagne only to then have to speed over to China Whites to the Wright Stuff’s Korin Nolan’s Pamper Ball, which sadly we could only stay 10 minutes as we had to return back to Sloane Street to the new Dolce & Gabbana store launch. There I met up with Fashion TVs Hofit Golan and celebrity designer Scott Henshall. We did some filming and interviewed a multitude of celebrities and the rushed quickly off to the Natural History Museum red carpet event – 30 Days Of Fashion Gala. Elle Mcpherson and Margo Stilley also attended the Gala. It was a fabulous event with many photographs being auctioned for charity and the biggest goody bag I have ever seen full of products.
After an evening of chaos, Hofit, Scott and I decided to retire for a quiet evening at celebrity reataurant Cipriani in Mayfair, just when we noticed we have forgotten about the Alfred Dunhill shop launch opposite, so in order not to disappoint the owners we popped in for a quick 20 minutes of socialising. I must say the new Dunhill shop is fabulous and reminded me of a gorgeous cigar rolling shop in Key West or something which had fallen out of Tombstone, Arizona. It smelt fabulous inside.
