The cream of the online fashion retail industry are dressing up in their finest tonight for the second annual Drapers Etail Awards, which is being held this evening in the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London and Designer Desirables is a “Finalist For The Best New Etailer Of The Year” so wish us luck.
The ceremony will recognise the movers and shakers of online fashion retail, and the guest list promises to be as glitzy as the gowns some of the nominees sell on their websites. Claudia Winkleman is hosting this year’s event, before the tables are pushed back to let the dancing begin.
Competition is fierce this year and in this hugely competitive market, the prestige of winning a Drapers award is sure to put the victors in a fantastic position to begin their 2010 trading.

Right now there is one show that’s giving everybody at Designer Desirables a major weekly fashion fix and that’s X-Factor. Here at the Designer Desirables offices we have had the most fabulous start to the day! The reason for our early week excitement is that we find out we have been shortlisted for the Drapers Etail Awards 2010 in the Best New Etailer category! For those who may not know Drapers is basically the fashion manual for the industry and to be recognised by such a prestigious company is simply marvelous. Along with 6 other brilliant websites including Amanda Wakely, Aphrodite Clothing, Davicore Clothing, farfetch.com, Matthew Willliamson and Pretty Disturbia, the Designer Desirables team will be travelling to the big smoke on January 28th 2010 for the awards ceremony which are being held in the super stylish Bloomsbury Ballroom.
All the girls at DD are over the moon to just be involved in such an event and in a time of tough trading, online retailing has seen many success stories so it’s great to celebrate this with other like minded businesses. We will of course bring you all the news, fashion styles and gossip from the event itself and a massive collective fingers crossed for the outcome, come on the North! X
Christina Aguilera my favourite pop starlet did an interview with InStyle (Oct 09 issue) where she allowed the whole world to take a peek into her ridiculously fabulous closets (well home but I have NO interest in the kitchen). Last night the glossy fashion magazine Cosmopolitan held there annual Ultimate Women Awards in London town. The ultimate celebration of females saw incredible A-listers and inspiring females come together for a glitzy night of fun and fabulous fashion. Our DD girl about town attended this chic event where she mingled with the stars and even managed to get a little pic taken with the gorgeous Ultimate Newcomer winner Pixie Lott. There was one winner in particular we would like to give a huge congratulations to and that is Kate Fearnley who won the Ultimate Young Fashion Entrepreneur award. A fantastic achievement and very well deserved.
